The most important play during Friday’s win at Warsaw was not a Sam Stichnote dunk or a Brady Trammell 3-point shot.

The most important play did not result in a basket by either team – but a bad ankle sprain to point guard Rece Gilmore.

Gilmore was injured during the 81-62 win that saw all 14 Eagles take the floor for some major playing time.

The win moved the Eagles to an 18-7 record and got them tuned up for this week’s Class 3 District 9 tournament.

But Gilmore’s injury could cast a shadow over Tuesday’s game (see results: bocojo.com).

“He looked a lot better today at practice,” said Eagles coach Andy Jahnsen on Monday evening. “We will wait and see how he is doing, how he warms up and make a game-time decision as to whether or not Rece plays.
