Southern Boone County volleyball has seen lineup changes in recent games that brings back a strong starter from last season.

Sophomore Kayla Sage is back on the court for the Eagles after watching from the sideline for a large part of the season. Sage was injured in a car accident before the season started and has been going through a recovery and conditioning process since the start of the school year.

With the addition of Sage as setter, Sydney Mattas has been moved to libero, a defensive specialist who plays the back row for a certain position. Mattas played back row for the left side, where Hailey Hanna and Sayde Taggart previously defended.

Becker said that while the transition has taken some getting used to, the team has been excited for the change. “We told them it was going to change everything, and it did, it completely changed our lineup. They love having Kayla on the floor and they love playing for her,” she said.
