The Eagles soccer team got a pair of unlikely goals on Tuesday night and topped longtime rival MMA by a 4-3 score.
The game was not as close as the final score indicated as SoBoCo held a 4-1 lead until late in the game. MMA scored twice in the final five minutes – the second on a penalty kick with 7-seconds remaining.
Two goals from reserves – Liam Clarke and Ivan Bossert lifted the Eagles to a 2-1 halftime lead. Clarke, who nearly scored at Boonville last week, boomed a 30-yard bomb into the upper part of the goal to start the scoring.
Coach Chris Miller said his team did what it needed to in order to defeat a quality opponent, lifting the Eagles to 4-0 on the season.

The Eagles volleyball team got back on the winning track by defeating Eugene at home in two straight games, 25-11, 25-18.
SoBoCo broke the first game open with strong hitting by Katy Andrews on the outside and Hannah Crow, who scored points hitting from the back line.
Eagles setter Janae King had 13 assists and three serving aces, Crow had 13 kills and Kailey Goodrich scored four aces.
The Eagles are now 3-1 and will face Centralia at home on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
