The SoBoCo Eagles football team moved up one notch to No. 6 in the state rankings after their win over Wright City on Friday.

The Eagles moved up to No. 6 in the state rankings while conference and district rival Blair Oaks was third in the state rankings. McClure South was the top-ranked team.

SoBoCo’s opponent on the road this Friday, the Eldon Mustangs, were not in the rankings, but did receive votes after their heart-stopping 72-69 win over Owensville.

That score is correct – 72-69. y comparison, Eldon’s boys basketball team lost to SoBoCo last January 66-23.

Eagles football coach Trent Tracy said Monday that the Mustangs were a ‘run-heavy’ team and the Eagles’ basic strategy was to keep Eldon from breaking big plays – and scoring less than 72 points.
