The SoBoCo Eagles girls basketball team had a great week in camp recently, according to coach Tony Phillips.

While some might think the Eagles will have difficulty replacing one of the top senior classes to take the court for Southern Boone, Phillips says he sees opportunity.

“I think we will be a faster team next year than we were this past season,” Phillips said.

SoBoCo spent its week in camp with Phillips working with the girls on defense and their running game – in addition to working on individual skills of each player.

Instead of playing in a summer league, Phillips has divided the Eagles into four teams and is holding scrimmages at the SoBoCo gym.

“We are seeing some very competitive play,” Phillips said, “these girls are working hard and want to continue our winning tradition.”
