The SoBoCo Eagles volleyball team saw a glimpse of championship-level volleyball on Monday night as they lost at Fatima in two straight games.

The Comets, always a favorite team to reach the Final Four, defeated the Eagles 25-14, 25-11. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-1 on the season.

“We were close both games for the first 8-10 points each game,” said coach Jaime Nelson, “but then they would go on a run and take us out of our game.”

Nelson said she felt her team had a bad night – but would not take anything away from a powerhouse like the Comets.

“We were not ready to play at that level,” Nelson said, “we could have competed better than we did, but we were not prepared for that sort of high-level of competition this early in the season.”
