The SoBoCo Eagles girls soccer team had four players – including goal keeper of the year – named to the Class 2 Region 3 team this past week.
Eagles junior forward Kate Ponder was named to the team for her scoring efforts.
The All Region team is voted upon by soccer coaches across Mid-Missouri.
SoBoCo senior Katy Andrews was named Goalkeeper of hte Year for her 19 shutouts in 25 games. Andrews recorded an average of less than one-half goal per game – a 0.44 goals against average.
Riley Scheer and Kylie Shoot, also Eagles seniors, were also named to the team. Scheer anchored the defense in the center of the line and helped Andrews stop opponent’s offensive efforts. In the middle of the Eagles’ midfield, Shoot controlled possession of the game, on the offensive and defensive side of the field, and often went unnoticed.
