Eagles anglers fish at state tournament

The National Youth Fishing Association Missouri State Championship was last weekend at Lake Stockton.

The SoBoCo fishing team had 4 teams qualify out of the total 11 teams this year. Isaac Bieghler and Braden Dement finished 32 out of 250 state participants. They had a limit of four fish but decided not to weigh one, as it was barely touching the 15-inch legal fish length.

A short or illegal fish brought to the scales disqualifies you. With a little under 7-lbs they still pulled out a good finish and qualified for the regional Midwest Shootout where they will be competing against the best teams from states surrounding Missouri. That tournament will be held in September at Table Rock Lake.
