a national title this weekend when he competes in the NCAA Track and Field championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Bartel, a junior at the University of Nebraska, qualified for the championships by tying for first place at the regional meet at the University of Texas in Austin in May.
Bartel cleared the bar on all four jumps, clearing 7-1.75. Bartel will be joined at the championships by teammate Mike McCann, who was 9th.
