A Blazing Start

The 8th grade girls opened their season last week against Blair Oaks. After only leading by 5 at half time they put the game away in the 2nd half with pressure defense creating steals and easy buckets.

The girls played good defense all around. Mariah Prince was the leading scorer with 18, followed by Jersee Wren with 12. Riece Clevenger came off the bench and added 9. Six points from Kyleigh Hay and Paige Gamble, Ellie Helms 4, Gracyn Flaspohler 3, and Chloe Giles added 2. The final score was 59-28.

The Eagles home opener was against Hallsville and the girls got another win. Jersee Wren had an excellent game running the offense and making things happen. She lead the offense with 16 points. Ellie Helms also had a good game getting steals on defense and rebounding the basketball. She was the 2nd leading scorer with 11. Mariah Prince had 8, Paris Winder 4, Lily Frazier 3, and Gracyn Flaspohler, Kyleigh Hay and Lila Frazier each added 2 points. The final score was 48-32. Next up is the Harrisburg Tournament.
