Ernest Cain 1928-2017

Ernest Cain, age 89, of Ashland passed away at his home on August 1, 2017.

He was born February 25, 1928 in Holts Summit, Missouri, the son of David and Ada Tibbs, Cain. He married Joan Bolks June 7, 1952 in Hilltown, Pa. He retired from the Missouri State Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer, he was also a mechanic all of his life. Ernest was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Holts Summit.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland.

Survivors include his wife, Joan of Ashland; two sons, James Cain of Jefferson City, Mo. and Thomas Cain of Lohman, Mo.; one daughter, Maria Cain of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers, Donald (Mary Lue) Cain of Lee’s Summit, Mo. and Eugene (Lou Ellen) Cain of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Ruby Cardwell of Ashland; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Brege; one sister, Patricia Niederhelm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to Boone Hospital Hospice in care of the family.
