Eddie Dean Lane, 70, of Morristown, TN (formerly of Ashland, MO) passed away peacefully to his heavenly home Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. Eddie was born and raised in Morristown and graduated from Morristown High School in 1965. He moved to Ashland, Missouri afterwards and was employed by the University of Missouri, retiring after 30 years of service. He moved back to Morristown after retirement, and became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Eddie loved the sports of baseball and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Curtis Lane; parents Irene and Frank Lane; sisters Betty Watkins, and Patsy Carol Lane; brothers Danny and Greg Lane; and nephew Wesley Lane.

Survivors include his wife Martha Taber Lane; son Arron (Kelly) Lane; grandsons Tucker and Jacob Lane, all of New Bloomfield, MO; granddaughter Nevaeh Lane Cain of Ashland, MO; brothers Michael (Sharon) Lane of Morristown, and Richard Lane of Knoxville; sisters Mary Bolli of Morristown, Marilyn (Bobby) Winstead of Bean Station, and Debra (Kirby) Potter of Russellville; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Sunday, Oct. 30, in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 7 pm, with Rev. John Taber and Rev. Mike Cutshaw officiating. Interment will be 1 pm Monday in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
