Claude Allen “Tony” Bennett 1938-2019

Claude Allen (Tony) Bennett , age 80, of Holts Summit, departed his life here on earth on Saturday June 1, at his home. He was born October 29, 1938 in Ashland to Lawrence and Mabel Bennett.
He was married to Betty McKee on September 6, 1985 in Jefferson City, Mo.
Tony attended Solid Rock Family Church in Jefferson City, where he grew to love God and make many friends.
Tony worked at International Shoe Co. and Von Hoffman Press until his retirement. He loved playing and listening to country and gospel music (especially Buck Owens), hunting his dogs, raising chickens and most of all spending time with the grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on June 5th, 2019 at 12:00pm at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland, burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home
He is survived by his wife Betty of the home, son Curtis L. (Teresa) Bennett of Ashland, daughter, Connie Nichols of Columbia, brother Jimmy (Carletta) Bennett of Columbia, sister-in-law Lucy Bennett of Lohman, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Crede Bennett, five sisters, Opal Nichols, Ruth Nichols, Dorothy Wilson, Jane Greenwood and Shirley Schmitz.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Liberty Cemetery or to Solid Rock Family Church in care of the family.
