The Fall 2018 Walking School Bus routes are getting ready to roll. The WSB program starts on Tuesday, September 4 and ends Friday, October 12. Kids can join WSB at any time throughout the program.

The program promotes good health, a cleaner environment, and reduced traffic around school and a ready-to-learn attitude for the school day. We currently have three “bus stops,” or starting points for walkers:

Ashland Learning Center Route-intersection of Liberty Lane and Douglas Drive, adult supervision begins at 7:15 am; children start walking to school at 7:30 am. Kids can arrive anytime between 7:15 and 7:30 am.

Ashland Public Library Parking Lot Route-adult supervision begins at 7:00 am; children start walking at 7:20 am. Kids can arrive any time between 7:00 and 7:20 am.

Eagle Achievers Route-children attending Eagle Achievers Academic Learning Center leave early enough for students to eat breakfast at school. Check with Julia at Eagle Achievers for more information, 573-657-2200.

Complete the registration form and return it to your child’s school office or bring it to at WSB starting route. Also:

• Always look for an adult with yellow WSB back packs before leaving your child.

• Kids are not required to walk every day.

• If you are late, but can see walkers, your child can join us.

• Parents, grandparents are welcome to join the walk.

• To be a WSB adult volunteer walker, please contact Joan Seidel at jseidelpetralia@gmail.com.
