According to SBFPD spokesperson Barrett Glascock, the home was nearly completely involved on the south side when fire fighters arrived.

“The garage and the south end of the home were fully engulfed in flames when we got there,” Glascock said.

Six fire trucks and 24 fire fighters were on the scene, with two of the trucks used to pump water from a nearby farm pond to fight the blaze. It took fire fighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze and fire fighters stayed for several hours to put out any hot spots.

“We had a good number of volunteers come out and they did an excellent job,” Glascock said. There were no injuries to fire fighters.

Glascock said he was not for sure where the fire originated.
