Boone County Commission Southern District candidates Democrat Brianna Lennon and Republican Fred Parry will face off in a political forum on Monday, Oct. 24. The forum will be held at the Southern Boone High School library.

The two candidates are competing to win Karen Miller’s seat. Miller, a longtime commissioner, elected to not seek re-election.

The two candidates have agreed to a forum platform, as opposed to an actual debate. The first half-hour will include their thoughts and responses to a number issues and the second half-hour will be a chance for Southern Boone residents to ask questions of the candidates.

The two candidates have reported their fundraising totals with Parry in the lead at $101,372 to Lennon’s $17,964 on hand. While that cash lead seems large, Lennon was only reporting on-hand cash. The Democrat spent a substantial amount of her funding in a hotly contested primary.
