The Southern Boone School Board will participate in its annual all-day retreat on Friday with a number of topics on the agenda which could ultimately change the landscape of the school district.

The board will meet at the Missouri School Board Association facility in Columbia from 9 a.m. Until 3:30 p.m. It is an open meeting and the public is welcome.

Superintendent Chris Felmlee has a full agenda for the board including:

• Meeting with leadership from the SoBoCo Learning Garden to prepare to transition that organization into becoming a part of the school district.

“They have been operating off of a grant which will run out at the end of December, 2017,” Felmlee said. “The community see the Learning Garden as a priority and it makes sense to make this a part of the school district. I would think of it as another Special in the Primary and Elementary Schools – like PE and music.”
