The Ashland Optimist Club will host a Veterans Day Breakfast from 6 a.m to 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Optimist Club. Veterans and their spouses are invited to enjoy the free breakfast.
Veteran are also invited to take part in the annual Veterans Day assembly at the Southern Boone High School gym.
The assembly will begin at 1:30 p.m. and end about 2:45.
High school principal Dale Van Deven said that each veteran would be recognized and special music would be presented by choirs and the band.
Veterans are invited to arrive early and register with organizers so their name can be called and they can be recognized.
