Ashland resident Justin John summed up the area off of Highway 63 near the city’s north water tower: “It just looks terrible.”

Mayor Gene Rhorer concurred. The discussion took place at last week’s Board of Aldermen meeting and John wants MoDot to take care of their mowing off the highway.

However, Mayor Rhorer explained to John, the City has recently “adopted” the mowing for the grass at the overpass exits as MoDot was not getting that work done, either.

“I will call MoDot and ask them to mow that area,” Rhorer said. if that doesn’t work I will call Sen. Caleb Rowden.”

The city adopted the inner portion of the ramps earlier this summer when City Administrator Lyn Woolford realized they were not being mowed.
