Boone County Clerk Taylor Burks held his Southern Boone campaign kickoff at Woody’s Pub & Grub on Thursday, April 19, to strong local support. State Senator Caleb Rowden, State Representative Sara Walsh, and Southern Boone County Commissioner Fred Parry kicked off the event with remarks to a full crowd of supporters.
Senator Rowden acknowledged Republicans have stiff competition this November, but noted “Republicans in Boone County have always had to work harder. Everyone here has run a strong campaign before, so we know what it takes to win.”
In his opening remarks, Burks talked about protecting elections while saving tax dollars, getting high school students involved on Election Day, and working across party lines in running elections for Boone County. Prior to serving as County Clerk, Burks served as an officer in the United States Navy.
