Residents in Setters Knoll will soon have the option of additional internet access.
Residents have attempted to entice cable companies in recent years, but could not get CenturyTel to provide internet capability.
However, according to Setters Knoll resident Sarah Walsh enough residents agreed to sign up for Internet service with Socket and infrastructure is being installed this week.
Columbia-based Socket offers high-speed internet service in Ashland, however, according to their website, only in designated areas.
Residents have also noted to elected officials and city administration that the Setters Knoll area is also not serviced by Charter cable – many residents use Dish Network for their channels.
