Three middle school students (one from Southern Boone and two who are homeschooled in Columbia) are partnering to host a Town Hall Discussion with Vicki Hartzler at the Ashland Optimist Building on Wed. Oct. 18.

Although the event is open to everyone, it is geared for youth of all ages as a non-partisan, educational event. The intent of the town hall isn’t to debate policy, but instead to encourage and enable young people to better understand the government process, the decisions that must be made as well as to get involved on all levels- from local to national.

If any youth groups in Southern Boone- such as the scouts, churches or school groups would like reserved seating for their guaranteed attendees , contact Dawn Thurnau at dthurnau@aol.com.
