Southern Boone graduate Faryn Griffin has quickly moved from being a part-time desk employee at the Southern Boone YMCA to director of membership.
Griffin began her duties earlier this month and she is not only learning her new job, she is balancing that work with being a full-time student at Moberly Area Community College.
“It’s not much different than when I was playing sports,” (in high school) said Griffin. “I go to school and I go to work each day.”
Griffin’s responsibilities at the YMCA focus on membership, getting new members signed up, getting their membership entered correctly into the computer and training new front desk employees with various membership tasks.
She also works with YMCA director Kip Batye on developing membership efforts and retaining current members.
