Eilers begins Journal internship

An Illinois native from the small town of Chandlerville, new Journal intern Briley Eilers certainly understands community journalism.

Eilers is the Journal’s new intern and has already jumped into the south county news scene.

“I understand the need for local journalism that cares about the community and am looking forward to covering the news in such a fast-growing community,” Eilers said.

In another key change, Journal news clerk Stacy Phillips has been promoted to Production Manager and will be in charge of putting the paper together, sending to press and managing the Journal office.

“I am confident that Stacy is the right person to get the paper out each week and provide our advertising clients great service,” said Journal publisher Bruce Wallace.
