Many high school homecoming traditions have changed over the years, but many remain the same.
At Southern Boone High School, the annual parade continues – this year on Thursday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. – but fund raising has become a new, traditional standard.
“We have raised thousands of dollars for dozens of good causes in recent years,” said faculty sponsor Meghan Monk.
Spirit Week activities will include Tuesday night’s dodge ball tournament and bonfire, Thursday’s assembly and the parade on Thursday afternoon.
There is no school scheduled for Friday as Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday of this week.
Also scheduled for Friday’s game is Senior Night and senior football players and cheerleaders will be recognized.
The Homecoming dance will be held on Saturday evening from 7-10 p.m.
