Dirt work begins at Hummingbird Properties development in City of Ashland

by Bruce Wallace

More than two-dozen large earth moving and heavy equipment vehicles descended on the City of Ashland late last week.

If you didn’t see the display of machinery, don’t be surprised.

The equipment was at the northern-most boundary of Ashland – at the new Hummingbird Properties development between the Columbia Regional Airport and US Highway 63.

“They have a lot of work to do, and I understand that they will be up there for months,” said Ashland Mayor Gene Rhorer. “They will be moving tons of dirt to prepare for the upcoming development.”
