Chamber scam passed on members email

Southern Boone Chamber of Commerce President Jason Reynolds told chamber members on Monday that a request had surfaced from the chamber to help “Support Tracy,” a daughter of one of our members.

The email, Reynolds emphasized, is “not recognized and we know nothing of this situation and the names listed.”

“The Southern Boone Chamber has not been contacted for any such need or situation and I apologize for this inconvenience,” Reynolds told chamber members.

Reynolds advised everyone to be wary of phishing scams and said that obviously someone had grabbed the Southern Boone Chamber logo from the chamber’s website.

“We don’t want anyone to receive this and think that it came from the chamber,” Reynolds emphasized.
