The Boone County Fair is set again this July for the Sturgeon Fairgrounds. For the second year, the fair will be in northern Boone County, after the Boone County Fair broke away from the Central Missouri Events Center in north Columbia.

Prices for admission to the fair are $10 for Tuesday through Thursday and $15 for Friday and Saturday. “Buddy Night” at the carnival will be a buy-one-get-one wristbands on Tuesday and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

The fair will kick off on Saturday, July 15 with the Horse Show, followed by the Parade that will wind through downtown Sturgeon at 10 a.m.

The Boone County Fair Pageant will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Sturgeon High School.

On Wednesday, July 19, veterans and active service members will be admitted to the fair for free, sponsored by Veterans United Home Loans.

The fair schedule includes a draft horse pull, tractor pull and a demo derby. The annual Ham Breakfast will be held on Saturday.

The Boone County Fair was the first held west of the Mississippi and the first held in the Louisiana Territory and first held in 1835.
