Ashland Man Sentenced in Federal Court

The United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri announced that an Ashland man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Jeremy Michael Traxler, 35, was sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison without parole. Traxler was sentenced as a career offender.

On April 27, 2015, Traxler pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

According to court documents, law enforcement officers encountered Traxler while executing a search warrant at a residence in New Bloomfield. Traxler had brought a safe containing 49.5 grams of pure methamphetamine into the residence.

Traxler has been convicted of multiple drug possession and drug trafficking offenses. Traxler has also been convicted of multiple instances of driving while revoked (felony), receiving stolen property (felony), unlawful use of a weapon, tampering (felony), resisting arrest (felony) and driving while intoxicated. At no time over the past 13 years has Traxler been free from either pre-trial or probation supervision when not serving a prison sentence.
